One of the most important requirements for digital watermarking is the robustness against desynchronization attack. Especially for the video file, the recovery of the synchronization over a series of segments is a serious problem because a video clip will be illegally distributed. In this study, we apply cyclically permutable code (CPC) for the encoding of watermark information in order to resynchronize it from a video clip. Then the codeword is iteratively embedded into the segments of a video file. By collecting the signal from an arbitrary successive series of segments, an error correction can be effectively performed in our scheme. Furthermore, when the spread spectrum technique is applied for the modulation of each element of the codeword, the applied PN-sequence is adaptively changed in order to embed the codeword hierarchically in a series of frames in a video file.
