Masanobu Naito completed his PhD studies in biotechnology with Prof. Yoshio Okahata at the Tokyo Institute of Technology in 2001. During PhD course, he joined Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) in Melbourne, Australia as a researcher. Afterwards, he took a JSPS postdoctoral position at University of California, Irvine and collaborated with Prof. Kenneth J. Shea. In 2002, he joined the Graduate School of Materials Science, Nara Institute of Science and Technology, as an assistant professor. Since April 2010, he has become a principal investigator and managed environmental photonics super research group. Concurrently, he joins PRESTO-JST project. In 2011, he promoted to be an associate professor at NAIST. In 2012, he joined the National Institute for Materials Science (NIMS) Japan as a principal researcher. From 2023, he became a deputy director of the Research Center for Macromolecules and Biomaterials, NIMS. His research interests include data-driven polymer design and development of polymer smart labratory to contribulte circular economy system from polymeric materials.
