Profile

Takahiro Kawamura is a Director of Data Management, National Agriculture and Food Research Organization, a member of Evaluation Committee, Riken BioResource Research Center, a Visiting Fellow at Department of Information Planning, Japan Science and Technology Agency, and a Part-time Lecturer in the Graduate School of Engineering, Osaka University, Japan. He received a M.S. and a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Waseda University. From 2001 to 2002 he was a Visiting Scholar in Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University. His current research interests include knowledge graph construction and its analysis combining semantic technology and machine learning. Dr. Kawamura published almost 180 referred papers in journals, books and as refereed Conference and Workshop contributions. He served as a chair of SIG on Semantic Web and Ontology in Japan, a former W3C Advisory Committee Representative, and a member in the Program/Organizing Committees of numerous conferences and workshops including International Semantic Web conference. He was also a member of W3C, FIPA, and a board member of Japanese Society for Artificial Intelligence (JSAI).
