Dr. Takahiko Matsushita is an Assistant Professor at the Graduate School of Science & Engineering, Saitama University, Japan, where he is a member of the research team led by Prof. Koji Matsuoka. His research focuses on bridging chemistry and biology through glycoscience, with a particular emphasis on the synthesis and analysis of complex glycoconjugates. Using advanced techniques such as microwave-assisted synthesis, chemoenzymatic methods, dendrimer platforms, and glycoblotting with mass spectrometry, he investigates glycan-protein interactions in cancer biology and related fields, aiming to develop innovative diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Dr. Takahiko Matsushita earned a Ph.D. in Science, specializing in Biological Sciences, from Hokkaido University in 2005 under the supervision of Prof. Shin-Ichiro Nishimura. He also received a bachelor’s degree in the same field from Hokkaido University in 2000. After completing his doctoral studies, he worked as a Specially Appointed Researcher at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Japan. From 2010 to 2013, he served as a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor at the Research Faculty of Advanced Life Science, Hokkaido University. Subsequently, he joined Wayne State University in the United States as a Research Scholar in the Department of Chemistry under the mentorship of Prof. David Crich (2013–2015). In 2015, Dr. Takahiko Matsushita was appointed Assistant Professor at Saitama University.

Dr. Takahiko Matsushita has published extensively in the fields of glycoscience, polymer chemistry, and chemical biology, contributing to a deeper understanding of glycan-protein interactions and their implications in disease mechanisms.
