A social enterprise, or a social entrepreneurship, is based on the visions and dreams of an entrepreneur; however, it tends to lack the business foundations necessary for it to be a profitable organization in the market. This current study examines the social enterprise as a business model. In order to become a major business enterprise in the society, it is necessary to have not only innovative concepts but also a business model that serves as its structure and process. This will allow it to tum ideas into specific products and services. This study argues that it is crucial for a social enterprise to have a sound business model in order to accomplish its purpose and contribute to society. A social enterprise should discover the potential market, develop a lucrative product/service for a long period of time, and built a compound business model.
