[Major interest]

▪ Canopy interception: Canopy interception is evaporation from forest canopy upon rainfall and the amount of evaporation accounts for some 20% of rainfall. Forest is the largest evaporative surface on land because of huge evaporation by canopy interception. Canopy interception consists of wet surface evaporation from canopy and evaporation of splash droplets generated by a raindrop impacting on the canopy. Splash droplet evaporation is considered as a major process of canopy interception and I try to formulate the phenomenon.

[Major project participating]

▪ Development of evaluation methods on forest function concerning water and material circulation
