筆者らは，京都教育大学大学院連合教職実践研究科（教職大学院）の生徒指導力高度化コースに，教員および院生として在籍している。お互いに，生徒指導の中核となる教員を輩出しようと，あるいは生徒指導の実践的な力を持ち，将来生徒指導の中核となる教員になろうと，日々研鑽している。生徒指導は，全ての教員が日常的に行うものであるが，組織としての生徒指導は，中学校においては生徒指導主事がその中核を担う。そこで，今回，どのような生徒指導主事像が求められているのかを把握するために，近畿圏都市部中学校の生徒指導主事を対象にアンケート調査を行った。アンケートの対象としたのは，近畿圏に位置する中学校（京都市・吹田市・寝屋川市・神戸市・奈良市・生駒市・橿原市），計223 校の生徒指導主事で，その回収率は51.1％であった。今回の調査結果から，求められている生徒指導主事の資質として，「コーディネート力に長けたリーダーシップ力」，「深い生徒理解力」，「法的知識を備えた問題解決力」が求められていることがわかった。The writers of this report are all enrolled in the Student Guidance Advancement Course of the Consortium of Graduate Schools of Professional Teacher Education at the Kyoto University of Education． Student guidance is a core issue for any educator, and with practical skills, becomes a core for future student guidance. While student guidance is a common daily for all educators, in middle schools it is the director of student guidance who bears the central role. In order better understand what the desired ideal for a director is, we used a questionnaire to collect information form 223 directors of student guidance who work at middle schools in the Kansai area (Kyoto City, Suita City, Neyagawa City, Kobe City, Nara City, Ikoma City, Kasihara City). The response rate of questionnaire was 51.1%. It was found that 3 qualities are important in being a director of student guidance. The first is a coordinating ability in leadership; the second, an ability of deep understanding of students; and third, is an ability to resolve problems with legal understanding.
