光音響イメージシステムを用いて仙骨部毛巣洞1例、胸部慢性膿皮症1例、血腫1例、滑液包炎1例、血管奇形6例を観察した。血管奇形6例は、腫瘍表層に三日月状の高信号領域を認め、血液を豊富に含む腫瘍であることを示唆した。
滑液包炎の1例は滑液包内部の滑膜表面に高信号部が点在していた。
仙骨部毛巣洞および胸部慢性膿皮症は全体的に低信号であるが、一部不規則な高信号を認めた。

動脈炎症では、TNF-αはTNF 受容体1(TNFR1)とTNF 受容体2(TNFR2)に結合し作用を発揮するが、各受容体機能について作用は不明であった。そこでTNFR1阻害剤R1antTNFを用い検証した。R1antTNF はNF-κ B活性化抑制に続くM φの集積の低下、平滑筋細胞増殖抑制により動脈炎症と内膜肥厚を抑制した。これはTNFR1 阻害療法が動脈炎症の新規治療法になることを示した。
