Light sources for plant leaf excitation were made by using ultraviolet LEDs (375nm) and near-ultraviolet LEDs (400nm) with optical filters which absorb visible light.The fluorescence spectra were able to be measured by the LEDs excitation of more than 30Wm-2 as well as the laser excitation. A Multipoint Measurement Device (MMD) of plant fluorescence was made by combining a macro lens, an imaging spectrometer, a chilled CCD camera and so on. By the ultraviolet LEDs excitation, the fluorescence spectra of a spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum) leaf, a pothos (Epipremnum aureum) leaf, and the partially UV-B treated peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.) leaf were measured with the MMD system. The distribution of fluorescence ratios (F430/F530, F685/F530, F740/F685) on each leaf were observed in detail. The accuracy of the plant growth monitoring can be improved by this technique.
