I am a Folklorist especially on Material culture such as tools of folkways, handcraft industry, agriculture and fisheries technique of common people. Sometimes, it is said that the humanities are an academic that does not know when to be useful. Especially for those who have faced a massive disaster. Economics works on revitalizing the local economy. Engineering contributes to the creation of a new city. Researchers in the medical field have ideas about saving lives in times of disaster. What can history and art research do after a disaster? But, in the process of recovering museum collection from major disasters and working on the reconstruction of the affected areas, I am beginning to think about the role of the humanities.
