私は長期に渡りリモートセンシング・GIS・GPS、およびフィールド科学の手法を用いて, アジア・アフリカの乾燥・半乾燥地域の自然・生態・人間の生業の変化を追い続けてきました。中でも主に野生動物と家畜の衛星追跡、生息地・放牧地の環境変動の解析；土地の退化と砂漠化、黄砂の発生・遊牧と定住の比較研究などを重点的に研究しております。我々は世界で初めてチベットカモシカの衛星追跡を行い、チベット高原横断鉄道とチベットカモシカの季節移動、繁殖との関係を明らかにした。

I have been working and following changes in nature, ecology, and human livelihoods in arid and semi-arid regions of Asia and Africa using remote sensing, GIS, GPS, and field science methods for a long time. Among them, I mainly focus on satellite tracking of wildlife and livestock, analysis of environmental changes in habitats and grazing areas; land degradation and desertification, Asian Dust and Sandstorms (DSS) generation, and comparative studies of nomadic and sedentary areas. We were the first in the world to conduct satellite tracking of Tibetan antelopes and to clarify the relationship between the Trans-Tibetan Plateau Railway and the seasonal migration and breeding of Tibetan antelopes.
