The omni-directional display system is an effective 3D displaying method in the environment of group observation. In this research, we developed a control user interface for the omni-directional display system. In general, a keyboard and a mouse are considered as the user interface for control on the display of computer easily. However, it is necessary that some users can operate the display freely at each position around the omni-directional display system. In addition, it is considered that inexperienced users can control easily by showing the various functions visually. Therefore, we implemented the user interface by using PDA (Personal Digital Assistants). By using the developed control user interface, we enabled to use some functions. viz. the control as rotation or translation, the pointing to the displaying object, and the annotations. In this paper, we introduce the implementation of developed PDA-based control interface, and we discuss the evaluation experiment concerning the usability of proposed interface.
