Arytenoid rotation, thyroplasty type I and intracordal collagen injections are all forms of treatment for unilateral laryngeal paralysis. In our clinic, arytenoid rotation is indicated in patients who have a wide glottic space during phonation or who have an extreme gap between the levels of bilateral vocal cords, thyroplasty is indicated in patients who have moderate or mild insufficiency of glottic closure. and an intracordal aterocollagen injection is chosen in order to increase the vocal cord volume.
In the present study, phonatory function test results were analyzed in patients treated by thyroplasty type I and arytenoid rotation. Our indication criteria were considered to be basically valid. At the same time. it was suggested that the indication of surgery should respond flexibly to individual needs.
