We previously obtained 3-dimensional coordinate data of concrete crack surfaces by the structured light projection method with the use of a laser beam. The crack surfaces had been formed by four different stress modes (tension, splitting, bending and shear). In our preceding study, a small piece of a crack surface was expressed by superposing triangular plane elements on the 3-dimensional coordinate data of a crack surface, and a numerical whole crack surface model was constructed. This numerical model was applied by functions such as the incline density, depth density, etc. of the crack surfaces. In the present study, 3-dimensional shape analysis was performed on the coordinate data of the four types of crack surfaces obtained in our previous study, and the effects of the different stress modes on the 3-dimensional shape characteristics were investigated. The results were as follows: For any stress modes, 1) the incline density is a small, hollow dome-shaped distribution, 2) the depth density distribution is a concentric circle shaped hke large, hollow caldera somma, 3) With regard to the analytical parameters of depth and the increased ratio of crack surface area, the cases of tension and splitting modes showed slightly larger values than those of bending and shear modes. 4) Proof was obtained for the first time that macro roughness and micro roughness, concepts proposed by J. C. Walraven, are evaluated actually.
