The purpose of this article is to demonstrate that a complement can have the function as anargument when there is a bidirectional agreement in semantic role between the case and theverb/ predicate adjective. Five cases in Mongolian are treated for consideration: accusative,dative-locative, ablative, instrumental and comitative. The semantic role agreement willindicate whether a complement is an argument, an adjunctive argument or an adjunct.
