本解説では,表面プローブとしてのラマン分光という視点からラマン散乱法を紹介する。まず,ラマン分光によって得られる一般的な情報について述べ,つぎにラマン分光を表面・界面に応用したときどのような情報が得られるのかについて述べる。最後に,最近のラマン分光による表面・界面の研究例(半導体界面のバンド曲がり,表面吸着分子の振動,結晶成長過程)を紹介する。
