斜流ポンプ羽根車出入口の三次元流れが計測され、羽根車出入口での流動状態、子午面流線が求められ、斜流羽根車の翼素効率が評価された。さらに、羽根車出口における損失の分布が求められ、羽根車効率低下の原因について検討された。その結果、遠心力効果による圧力上昇と翼列の減速効果による圧力上昇の適切な配分が、効率の優れた羽根車設計のための重要なファクタであることが判明した。

三次元非定常流計測用5孔ピトープローブの測定精度を明らかにするために理論的研究が行われた.プローブ・ヘッドの非定常圧力分布,圧力測定系の動特性を考慮した理論計算が行われ,測定精度がストローハル数の関数として示された.さらに,その結果を利用して,所要の非定常流計測に最適なプローブ設計法が示されている.

遠心ポンプが急激に停止される時の過渡性能を実験的・理論的に調べた.瞬間的な回転数,吐出し量,軸トルク,全揚程の時間変化が種々の減速率について測定された.過渡性能の理論計算が行われ,実験値と比較された.それらの結果として,停止期間中の過渡性能と準定常性能との間には明確な食違いが生ずること,およびその主因子は,翼まわり循環形成の遅れと衝撃圧力であることが判明した.

回転数が急激に立ち上るときのターボ形ポンプの過渡性能を非定常翼列流れに基づいて理論的に予測する方法が示され、第1報の実験結果との比較によってその妥当性が明らかにされている。この予測手法は、任意のターボ形ポンプが任意の回転立ち上りで始動されるときにも適用可能なものである。計算結果が示され、インパルス圧力、翼まわり循環の遅れが始動時の過渡性能を特徴づける主用な因子であると結論されている。

遠心ポンプが停止状態から最終回転数まで急激に加速される場合の過渡性能を実験的に研究した。始動期間中の瞬間的な回転数、吐出し量、圧力の変化を種々の加速率において測定・記録し、加速中の各瞬間における全揚程が定常特性曲線から類推されるものと比較された。その結果、ポンプの始動時にはその性能は必ずしも準定常変化をするとは限らないことが明らかにされ、その食違いのようすがいくつかの加速例について示されている。
