The purpose of this study is the effective use of natural resources and the preservation of the environment. This study investigates the durability of the porous concrete using slag-gypsum cement. The resistance to freezing and thawing of the porous concrete using slag-gypsum cement is inferior to that using ordinary Portland cement. However, the rise of the pH value can be controlled by water curing. The porous concrete using slag aggregate and the large blast-furnace fine powder in specific surface area can improve the compressive strength, the resistance to sulfate and the resistance to repeated wetting and drying. Therefore, the porous concrete using slag-gypsum cement is suitable for water environment free of the freezing and thawing.
