Abstract:It has been often pointed out that junior college students lack exercise and that college athletics clubs are losing team members. Even though maintaining a healthy diet is one of the important factors in supporting junior college athletes, they have not been given enough sports nutrition education. This study created a cooking class aimed at athletes and was based on the results of questionnaires on sports nutrition.These questionnaires were answered by twenty-three students who belonged to basketball, volleyball, and badminton clubs at a women's junior college. Questionnaire results showed that most athletes knew about the close relationship between sports and nutrition. Using Hayashi's quantification methods class I analysis, we also found out that many athletes who cook healthy meals everyday have not experienced a significant nutritional difference. Another result of the questionnaires was that athletes want to learn about pre-game meals and attend a sports nutrition cooking class. The results of the KJ-methods showed that the athletes who participated in our cooking class learned ""improve cooking life".In conclusion, scientifically-proven sports nutrition cooking classes based on a survey answered by athletes can satisfy participants and can motivate them to cook for themselves and gain a better knowledge of a well-balanced diet.
