Dr. Takeshi Saito is a research scientist (2003-now) of the Nanomaterials Research Institute in the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), and the group leader of the CNT function control group from 2015. Concurrently he has/had taken up additional posts as a Researcher of JST-PRESTO (2006-2010), Visiting Associate Professor of Tokyo Metropolitan University (TMU) (2009-2010), Visiting Professors of TMU and Shinshu University (2011-Now). He received his Ph. D from Kyoto University in 2000, majoring in carbonaceous materials and molecular nanotechnology based on Physical Chemistry. He had started his professional career as a postdoctoral fellow and lecturer of Kyoto University Venture Business Laboratory (2000-2002), and then joined in a company (Toray Industries, Inc., Electronic & Imaging Materials Research Laboratories) from 2002 until 2003, before transferring to AIST in 2003. He had won a Iijima Award from The Fullerenes and Nanotubes Research Society of Japan in 2006.
