イネミズゾウムシ越冬後成虫の産卵数と摂食量を各種温度条件下で調査した。1雌当たりの平均産卵数は20℃ で183個, 25℃ で283個であった。この産卵数の増加は, 個体飼育と1日おきの餌交換に起因する好適な飼育条件によると考えられた。温度と摂食量は正の相関関係を示し, Y=-55.9+4.4Xの回帰直線が得られた。この回帰直線から求めた摂食開始温度は12.7℃ であった。また, 摂食量の増加にともなって産卵数が増加する傾向がみられた。
