In this research, we considered the characteristics of residents’ association by the relationship between regional characteristics and association rules. First, we classified study area into four regional types according to their socioeconomic characteristics and land utilization. Secondly, we made rural and urban types of residents’ association by these four regional types. Thirdly, we clarified the characteristics of the activities engaged in by these two types of association by comparing their common objectives and activity contents in residents’ association rules.
