Born in April, 1973. Ninohe City, Iwate Prefecture.

My research interests include celestial mechanics, astrometry, lunar and planetary ephemerides, general relativity and verification of gravitational theory, accurate modeling of light propagation in gravitational fields (light bending, time delay of radar echoes, etc.), dark energy/cosmological constant problems in cosmology, and fast and accurate numerical integration and computation methods.

I am currently working on a theoretical research to solve the dark energy/cosmological constant problem in terms of light bending and gravitational lensing using the Gauss-Bonnet theorem, and I am also investigating the possibility of solving the accelerating expansion problem in the Universe by generalizing the theory of gravity using Finsler geometry. I am also interested in the general relativistic three-body problem (Kozai-Lidov mechanism, Sitnikov problem, and the motion of S0-Stars at the Galactic center).

Asteroid 1996 VP7 was named after my name (7502) Arakida.
