In this paper we investigate a mathematical property of quad trees from combinatorial point of view. For each n (≧0), we give a one-to-one correspondence between labels and cell numbers of the quad tree of degree n. Furthermore, we apply the result to texture mapping of surfaces in ray tracing by spherical method.
