我々は，システム側から積極的に気の利いた情報を気の利いたタイミングで提示するプロアクティブな対話が可能な観光案内システムの試作を行っている．そして，そのような対話の実現のため，Active Appearance Model を用いて，画像からの顔パーツ認識による顔向き認識を行っている．本稿では，さらにその情報を利用して頷き・首振り等の頭部動作を認識するアルゴリズムを開発・実装したので報告する．
