配車計画問題やスケジューリング問題などの組合せ最適化問題に対する実用的な手法を研究しています。特に、ヒューリスティック探索に基づく動的計画法ソルバーを開発しています（didp.ai）。また、実問題に対する組合せ最適化の応用も行っており、ヒューリスティック探索・動的計画法ソルバーに加えて、混合整数線形計画法や制約プログラミングも利用しています。
その他に、ヒューリスティック探索自体や人工知能におけるプランニングも研究しています。
組合せ最適化の実応用に興味のある企業・団体との共同研究や技術顧問契約なども行っています。
