<jats:p>Water molecules are exchanged in the crystal structure, which imparts a high divalent conductivity to hydrated complex hydrides. MB<jats:sub>12</jats:sub>H<jats:sub>12</jats:sub>·12H<jats:sub>2</jats:sub>O (M = Zn or Mg) exhibits exceptional conductivities higher than those of less-hydrated complex hydrides.</jats:p>
