脳機能イメージングと数理モデリングを組み合わせたアプローチにより、意味や感性などの高次認知情報の脳内表現を可視化する研究に取り組んでいます。その知見を応用し、脳情報を融合して人工知能を人間らしくする技術の開発も行っています。また、神経科学と哲学（現象学）の方法論を組み合わせ、意識の脳内メカニズムの研究にも取り組んでいます。
