超伝導現象として超伝導体の上に磁石を浮かせる現象が広く知られているが,磁石の上で超伝導体を浮上させて走行させる「超伝導コースター」の学生による製作・実演はほとんど実践されていない。そこで,有明工業高等専門学校3年次学生の有志による課題研究授業において,樹脂ブロックを用いた超伝導に関する装置(教材)を製作した。受講学生は製作しながら磁場や超伝導現象に関する理解を深めることができ,また,樹脂ブロックを使用することで拡張性と自由度が広がり,製作物は教材として大きな可能性を有していることが確認できた。
