東京大学大気海洋研究所に在籍していた時から、樹木年輪セルロース中の酸素・炭素同位体を用いた過去二千年間の古環境復元研究に従事。PDとして筑波大学に所属してからは、環境水の安定同位体分析に基づいた森林の涵養機能評価研究に取り組む。現在所属している森林総合研究所では、森林内での放射性セシウムの環境動態に関する研究に従事。
