Motion JPEG2000 is a video coding system on the basis of wavelet transforms. It has many advantages such as easy editing, unified lossless/lossy compression, resolution and SNR scalabilities. However, there can produce some noise refered to as "flicker artifacts". We need to reduce it because it is visually annoying in a video sequence. In this paper, a distortion reduction method at a decoder is studied. The distortion is differentiaded from the sequence movement by the region mean of frame difference. The information of previous frames is used to improve the perceptual appearance of the current frame. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method works well.
