微小管に結合する蛋白群に焦点をあて、ニューロンの形態と機能の維持機構、精神神経疾患の病態メカニズムを研究してきました。その経験を踏まえ、現在の研究室では、統合失調症と自閉症の病態を分子レベルで解明することを目標に以下の研究を行っています。
(1)免疫異常が脳の機能や発達に影響し、精神病を引き起こすメカニズムの研究
(2)妊娠中の母体の免疫活性化が胎児の脳発達に影響を与え、出生後に精神病を引き起こすメカニズムの研究
(3)細胞内物質輸送機構の破綻による精神疾患の研究
(4)霊長類を用いた精神疾患モデルの研究
