This paper outlines the teaching approach by an EFL professional to instruct conference style presentation slides in English for Japanese science and engineering graduate students. Every year, approximately 120 students in their 1st-year of the graduate course conduct one short 2-minute PowerPoint presentation on their undergraduate thesis in English, as part of the requirement of a graduate school technical English (GSTE) course at a national science and engineering university.In this presentation, the author will suggest teaching methods for ESP where an EFL instructor leads the instruction, focusing on feedback for conference style presentation slides. The list of common feedback typical for Japanese graduate students will be shared along with the level of improvement from the draft version to the final version. The author will also suggest how to provide effective feedback by providing not only the list of common feedback but additionally through meaningful visuals using student work and simple PowerPoint animation.
