1.環境に応じた柔軟な歩行運動制御の背景には、運動パターンの生成を脳幹・脊髄の低位の階層が担い、運動の計画や開始/終了、調節や学習を高位の階層が担うという中枢神経系の階層性制御が存在する。2.歩行運動を実現する神経システムについての正確な理解は、歩行機能の停滞、異常歩行の原因を見極めるために必要不可欠である。3.歩行運動の適応性と学習性、脊髄の可塑性に関する知見は、歩行機能回復のための具体的なアプローチを考える上で重要な手がかりとなる。(著者抄録)
