Dr. Takashi Komabayashi is an Olmsted Family Distinguished Professor and Graduate Endodontic Program Director at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Adams School of Dentistry. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. He received a D.D.S. from the University of Hiroshima in 1998, a Ph.D. in dental material from the Tokyo Medical and Dental University in 2002 (“The Study of New Root Canal Filling Materials With Adhesiveness to Dentin”), a D.D.S. from the University of California at San Francisco in 2005, and his Certificate in Endodontics and M.Dent.Sc. from the University of Connecticut in 2008. He also holds a Master of Science in Clinical Science from the University of Texas Southwestern supported by National Institutes of Health KL2 Award in 2011. He was a recipient of the AAE Foundation’s Endodontic Educator Fellowship Award and Henry M. Thornton/Student Clinicians of the American Dental Association Fellowship Award. He is also a dental officer in the U.S. Army Dental Corps (Reserve).
