Akira Tamamori

Dr. Tamamori received the B.Eng. degree in computer science and the M.Eng. and Ph.D. degrees in scientific and engineering simulation from Nagoya Institute of Technology (NITech), Nagoya, Japan, in 2008, 2010, and 2014, respectively. From 2014 to 2016, he was a Research Assistant Professor at Institute of Statistical Mathematics, Tokyo, Japan. From 2016 to 2018, he was a Designated Assistant Professor at the Institute of Innovation for Future Society, Nagoya University, Japan. From 2018 to 2020, he was an lecturer at Aichi Institute of Technology, where he is currently an Associate Professor. He is also a Visiting Associate Professor at Speech and Language Generation Processing Laboratory, Japan. His research interests include kernel method, data mining, and robust statistics. He is a member of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers (IEICE), the Information Processing Society of Japan (IPSJ), the Acoustical Society of Japan (ASJ), International Speech Communication Association (ISCA), and Asia-Pacific Signal and Information Processing Association (APSIPA).

I am conducting research and development of sound information processing technology. The scope of my research covers speech information processing, music information processing, and sound environment information processing, and I approach various problems based on the methodologies of machine learning and signal processing. I am also interested in the theory of statistical depth considering robust statistics and its application to data mining. In particular, I am working on applications to outlier detection and anomaly detection.
