新しいイオン輸送材料としてイオン伝導性高分子ナノファイバーに着目し、有機・高分子材料におけるナノイオニクス現象を実証することを目的とした。エレクトロスピニング法により直径百~数百nmの均一なイオン伝導性ナノファイバーを作製し、ナノファイバー単体のプロトン、アニオン伝導度の測定に成功した。その結果、ナノファイバーは通常の電解質膜と比較して非常に高いイオン輸送特性を有することが明らかになった。さらに、エネルギー変換デバイスへの応用に向け、イオン伝導性ナノファイバーを用いた複合電解質膜を作製し、...

効率的なアニオン輸送パスの形成を目指し、アニオン交換基を局所的かつ高濃度に導入した新規アニオン伝導性高分子を分子設計し、精度高く合成した。得られた高分子電解質膜は優れた化学的・機械的・熱的安定性を有していた。高分子骨格中にブロック構造を導入した新規電解質膜は非常に優れた水酸化物イオン導電率を示し、その発電特性も良好であった。以上より、新しいアニオン伝導性高分子の分子設計指針を示すとともに、アルカリ燃料電池への適用を実証した。
