A Japanese version of the Career Adaptability Scale(CA) by Savickas was developed and its reliability and validity were tested. In addition, the CA was carried out longitudinally with university students who took classes in career education.<br />
Method: The subjects were 511 university students (392 famales). Results: As a result of exploratory factor analysis, the factor affiliations of the scale items were found to be different from the results by Savickas. Cultural differences may be considered to account for the differences of the factor affiliations of the scale items from that of the results of Savickas. From the longitudinal comparisons for G1, the possibility was suggested that the CA of university students rises as the time of employment approaches.
