My expertise is in marketing and consumer behavior theory. Globalization is rapidly advancing due to the development of transportation, the spread of high-speed communication networks and the increasing number of the middle class. In this context, I study marketing strategies in a multicultural society by focusing on the biases (preconceived attitudes) toward foreign countries and different cultures. For example, my research focuses on the origins of Japanophilic consumers, how they evaluate Japanese products and services, and how to communicate effectively with these consumers. I also collaborate with researchers in various fields on other contemporary issues.
