大気圧放電は,雷に代表される身近な自然現象であると同時に,電気集塵やアーク溶接といった工業技術に利用されている.最近,大気圧グロー放電の形成が実現され,大気圧プラズマプロセスヘの展開が期待されている.本稿では,大気圧プラズマの身近な応用例を紹介するとともに,大気圧プラズマを理解する上で必須となる基本的な放電理論の概略を示す.また,具体的な大気圧プラズマのモデリングや診断技術についても説明する.
