東北大学 大学院環境科学研究科 先端環境創成学専攻 都市環境・環境地理学講座 環境地理学分野 教授、地理学およびGIS関連の教育・研究指導のため理学研究科／理学部地学専攻教授を兼担。博士（理学）。1997年4月から2018年まで立命館大学地理学教室に勤務し、2018年4月より現職。人文地理学に関連した地理情報科学の分析・視覚化方法論、およびそれらを活用した地理学的な空間データ解析研究を専門とし、地理学的社会格差論、健康地理学／空間疫学、犯罪の空間分析、災害研究に関する領域での研究プロジェクトを重点的に進めています。
