A titanium aluminide (Ti-Al) is not easy to fabricate the complicate shaped components by conventional methods such as machining or forging, while casting leads to inhomogeneous microstructures. Metal injection molding (MIM) has the potential to be a cost-efficient process and near net shape powder technique, especially for the complex shaped mass produced components. In this study, Ti-Al intermetallic alloy compacts were fabricated through MIM technique. Their micro Vickers hardness were similar to wrought materials. It was suggested to prevent the evaporation of aluminum and obtain the lower surface roughness for better mechanical properties.
