ARNS (Aeronautical Radio Navigation Service) band is used by DME (Distance Measurement Equipment), TACAN (TACtical Air Navigation system), SSR (Secondary Surveillance Radar) and some other systems. These systems transmit pulse signals with random access method. The measurement of signal environment in ARNS band provides the data for operational performance prediction on the various navigation systems including future GPS-L5, GALILEO-E5, and so on. Their performance is influenced by interference from other signals. Now, ENRI is developing the wide band and long time waveform recorder for the measurement of signal environment. In this paper, we present the results of preliminary flight experiments measuring the environment using wide band but low throughput recorder.
