I am from Madurai, a south Indian city in India. I got my Masters in Physics from the American college in Madurai and Masters in applied optics from Indian Institute of Technology. After coming to japan as research student with Monbusho scholarship I obtained my Doctoral degree in Engineering with my thesis on fundamental coherence properties of light. As a postdoc, first I worked on development of near-field optical microscope in Kanagawa Academy of Science and Technology. Next, I moved to RIKEN and proposed optical coherence tomography for 3D functional imaging. Now I am engaged in English education as well as starting research to connect brain imaging and education, neuroeducation.
