<p>This study examines the effect of manufacturing education on mechanical engineering students using an art work based on design thinking. The miniature movable monument of "flexible dimension (by Junko Sugimori)" is developed. Based on many real-monument pictures and the outline of the miniature monuments created using 3D printer, a basic model of miniature monuments is created. To move the miniature monument, the motion data of the finger was captured via Leap Motion technology and the data was transmitted via XBee processing and the angle of rotation was calculated. From this project, which discusses miniature monument development, students learned about the relation between manufacturing and art based on design thinking.</p>
