世界中の新興・再興感染症を主な研究対象として、時系列統計モデル、機械学習などのデータサイエンス技術を用いて、感染症の時空間分布の推定や伝播ダイナミクスの解明、公衆衛生対策や気候変動の影響評価、並びに流行予測の実現を細目分野とした疫学研究を行っています。野心的テーマを、ご一緒に分析いただける企業、研究者有志、ご興味のある大学院生の皆様には、ぜひ気軽にお声がけをいただければと思います。一緒に面白い研究をやりましょう。

Dr. Keita Wagatsuma, PhD, is an Assistant Professor in the Division of International Health (Public Health), Graduate School of Medical and Dental Sciences, Niigata University, Niigata, Japan. He specialises in epidemiology and biostatistics, with experience spanning infectious disease, environmental health, clinical research, real-world data (RWD), and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR). His work focuses on respiratory infections (e.g., influenza, respiratory syncytial virus, and COVID-19) and the impacts of weather, air pollution, and climate variability on disease transmission and health burden. He applies time-series methods, multi-location meta-analysis, and machine learning, and also contributes to clinical and outcomes research using routinely collected healthcare data to generate policy-relevant evidence. He collaborates with clinical and public health partners in Japan and internationally.
