岩田 直高

Naotaka Iwata received his B.E. degree from the University of Electro-Communications in 1981, and received his M.E. and D.E. degrees from University of Tsukuba in 1983 and 1999, respectively. In 1983, he joined Fundamental Research Laboratories, NEC Corporation, and studied III-V compound semiconductors. Since 1989 he has been engaged in the research & development high power FETs and MMICs utilizing the compound semiconductor heterojunctions for mobile communication systems at NEC, NEC Electronics and Renesas Electronics. From 1993 to 1994, he was a visiting scholar at Stanford University. From 2005 to 2011, he was a visiting professor of the University of Electro-Communications. Currently, he is a professor of Toyota Technological Institute.

Dr. Iwata received the Ichimura Prizes in Industry-Meritorious Achievement Prize in 2002, the Commendation by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology as a Person of Scientific and Technological Research Merits in 2003, and the University of Electro-Communications Alumni Prize in 2004.

He is a member of the Japan Society of Applied Physics, a senior member of the Institute of Electronics, Information and Communication Engineers, and a senior member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.
