Dr. Yusuke Tsuboko earned a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan, in 2016. From 2014-16, he worked at the Department of Medical Engineering and Cardiology, PreClinical Research Center, Institute of Developing, Aging and Cancer, Tohoku University, as a Research Fellow of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. From 2017-18, he worked as a Research Associate at the Institute for Medical Regulatory Science, Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan. From 2019-22, he worked as a Junior Researcher at Waseda Research Institute for Science and Engineering, Waseda University, Tokyo, Japan. Currently, he is a Senior Researcher at the Division of Medical Devices, National Institute of Health Science, Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Japan.

Dr. Tsuboko has been involved in numerous preclinical tests of implantable cardiovascular medical devices, particularly heart valve prostheses and ventricular assist devices. His main research interests are Regulatory Science for Medical Devices, Cardiovascular Engineering, Artificial Internal Organs, and Circulatory Simulations. His research aims to provide earlier access to innovative medical devices for patients by using an engineering-based preclinical evaluation methodology.
