Katsuya Yamauchi is Associate Professor at Kyushu University, faculty of Design.
He received his Ph.D from Kyushu Institute of Design in 2004. He worked for Kyushu University as a researcher from 2004 to 2006, and worked for Nagasaki University as an Assistant Professor since 2006. He also visited Technical University Munich as a guest professor in 2010.
He joined to Department of Communication Design Science, Faculty of Design, Kyushu University in 2015.
His research interest includes environmental acoustics, noise control engineering and sound design, which are investigated through psycho-acoustical evaluation. Particularly, he has been focused on the issues concerning the sound of next generation vehicles, such as electric or hybrid electric vehicles, to discuss future road traffic and urban sound environment.
