一般に,シンチレータ結晶の開発には,発光中心の選択,母結晶の設計等を検討しつつ行うが,実際に実機搭載を具現化するには,発光波長に即した受光素子の選択,シンチレータのアレイ化,アセンブリが必要となり,その道筋を経たもののみが,2次元マップの撮像に辿りつける.本報では,シンチレータ結晶の設計指針と共に,2次元マツプの撮像への道程に関して例を挙げて報告する.

Si-APD用の透明セラミックスCe:LuAGシンチレータを開発した。Ce0.5%添加LuAGにおいては、16000ph/MeVの発光量を達成した。さらなる高特性化を目指し、バンドギャップエンジニアリングを行うため、AlサイトをGaに置換していったところ、Al:Ga=6:4の比において、21000ph/MeVの発光量を達成した。
